From the age of 25, our skin will begin to show issues as well as signs of aging. To protect and improve skin condition after the age of 25, we will need appropriate skincare procedures. One of the indispensable important skincare steps of beauty believers is treatment.
What is the treatment? It’s a term used by dermatologists to call specialized products that help solve skin problems such as acne, pigmentation, large pores, acne scars, aging, etc.
The trend of cosmetic treatment
The main ingredients used are vitamins and acids because they stimulate the skin cells to produce collagen for a healthier glow. It can be said that treatment is a panacea for skin $with many aspects to improve.
In this article, I will share with you the two most common cosmetic types for skincare routine. They are AHA and BHA.
AHA and BHA are the two most commonly used acids to exfoliate dead skin cells. As AHA is water-soluble, they mainly work on the surface of your skin, renewing it to create brighter and smoother skin. On the other hand, BHA is oil soluble and able to penetrate deep into the pores to help remove dead skin cells and excess oil on your skin.
So which one should we choose, AHA or BHA?
AHAs are often used in the case of:
– Hyperpigmentation and scar
– Enlarged pores
– Small surface wrinkles
– Poor complexion
AHAs have moisturizing properties, so they tend to hydrate the skin and are suitable for dry to normal skin. AHAs also promote collagen formation.
BHAs are used for:
– Acnes
– Aging skin
– Clogged pores
BHAs have anti-bacterial properties that tend to dry the skin and are suitable for oily, sensitive skin and skin with acne. Especially, they can reduce irritation and redness caused by acne.
To use AHA and BHA effectively, we have to make sure these 3 steps are done: cleansing – moisturizing – sunscreening.
How to use AHA and BHA – What everyone needs to know
By using AHAs and BHAs in our cleansing routine, you need to apply them in the following order: Cleanser – Toner – AHA/BHA – Moisturizer – Sunscreen.
AHAs and BHAs work best at a pH level of 3.0 – 4.0. After washing our face, our facial skin will be alkaline. Toner helps to balance the pH, and AHA and BHA work best at this pH level.
Besides, there are also some remarks when using AHA and BHA.
When we first use AHA and BHA, we should apply a thin layer or lightly dab on acne spots only. Take not to use it no more than once or twice a week and stop if the skin shows any sign of irritation.
Another very important thing is that after using AHA and BHA, we need to moisturize and protect the skin carefully. As AHA and BHA remove dead cells, they also peel off the skin and remove the protective film on the skin, revealing young and sensitive skin. The skin must be carefully protected after that, otherwise, it will be easily darkened and damaged.
We can also use a combination of AHAs and BHAs alternatively. Typically, AHAs are used in the morning, and BHAs are taken at night.
Through this sharing article, I hope to help women with skin problems or wish to maintain healthy skincare will have more understanding about effective skincare products in the treatment process.
